Brunson adds honors to standout career after named Third-Team All-American

After a dominant performance on the pitch, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Kaitlyn Brunson to the NAIA All-American Third-Team Monday. Brunson is the first third-team back-to-back recipient in women's soccer history. The last back-to-back recipient came in 2009 and 2010 in the 2024 Hall of Fame honoree, Ashley Dexter. Dexter was selected as a NAIA All-American Honorable Mention both seasons.
Brunson named repeat First-Team CSC Academic All-America selection

Senior Kaitlyn Brunson has been named to the Academic All-America first-team for the second year straight after her prestigious efforts both in the classroom and on the pitch. Her efforts were recognized by College Sports Communicators (CSC) earlier today. Brunson was only one of 14 student-athletes selected to the first-team.
XC, soccer, and women's volleyball All-Academic selections released by CCAC

The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the fall sports All-Academic Teams earlier today. A total of 78 Bees were named to the All-Academic Teams this fall (8 men's cross country, 7 women's cross country, 26 men's soccer, 26 women's soccer, 11 women's volleyball). St. Ambrose led the CCAC in the number of All-Academic student-athletes in men's cross country, men's soccer, women's soccer, and women's volleyball. Nine student-athletes held a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA.
Fighting Bees named as NAIA Scholar-Athletes

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2024 Daktroncis NAIA Scholar-Athletes awards earlier today. Of the fall student-athletes at St. Ambrose, 74 (6 men's cross country, 6 women's cross country, 14 football, 22 men's soccer, 20 women's soccer, and 6 women's volleyball) were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Bees end season with a 3-2 loss at No. 8 Spring Arbor

The Bees fought their way into the second round of the NAIA National Tournament after a 5-0 opening round win. St. Ambrose faced No. 8 Spring Arbor for the second round match up, and ended with a close decision that resulted in a loss for SAU in Spring Arbor, Mich. earlier this afternoon. SAU conceded two goals in the opening period, but bounced back in the second half to score two of their own until the Cougars netted the decision maker in the 70th minute of play.
SAU looks to make deep run into the postseason

St. Ambrose dominated over the Mighty Oaks from Oakland City (Ind.) yesterday even with a 5-0 decision in Spring Arbor, Mich. With that win, the Bees move into the second round of the NAIA Women's Soccer National Tournament. SAU will take on the Cougars of Spring Arbor tomorrow at 12 p.m. CST. Bees run away with the NAIA National Tournament opening round game to advance

St. Ambrose opened the NAIA Women's Soccer National Tournament first round with a blow out win at a neutral site in Spring Arbor, Mich. The Bees outpaced the Mighty Oaks of Oakland City the entire match to earn the 5-0 victory. This win allows SAU to advance further into the NAIA National Tournament.
Academic and athletic performances have twelve Bees named to CSC's Academic All-District Team

Between and men's and women's soccer programs at St. Ambrose, twelve student-athletes were named to the 2024 Academic All-District Soccer team, selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) today.

St. Ambrose has been awaiting the NAIA Selection Show for women's soccer after their 2-1 come back victory over the Olivet Nazarene Tigers this past Wed. in the CCAC Conference Tournament Championship. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the pairings for the 2024 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship earlier this afternoon. St. Ambrose will travel to Spring Arbor, Mich. next Thursday, Nov. 21 to play the Might Oaks of Oakland City (Ind.). Kickoff is to be determined at Cougar Soccer Complex in Spring, Arbor, Mich.

Kaitlyn Brunson and Jon Mannall earned CCAC postseason awards after an outstanding season for St. Ambrose. Taylor DeSplinter, Abigail Goff, and Kendall Wendt were also selected for All-Conference honors.
SAU was backed by Wendt's two second half goals to claim back-to-back CCAC Tournament titles

Kendall Wendt came up big for the Bees as she scored two second half goals to earn St. Ambrose back-to-back bragging rights of the CCAC Tournament title. SAU defeated Olivet Nazarene 2-1 this evening in the CCAC Tournament Championship match at St. Vincent's Athletic Complex. The Bees added this championship feat to their already regular-season championship. This is all deja-vu for SAU as the Bees defeated ONU last season in the CCAC Conference Tournament game 1-0.

The Bees have had a red hot final half of the 2024-25 season as they are on a ten-game win-streak to find themselves in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament championship match. SAU will play host to conference rival, the Olivet Nazarene Tigers, out of Bourbonnais, Ill. The Bees rolled past Holy Cross with a 3-0 decision while Olivet Nazarene dominated St. Francis 5-1 to meet and play for the rights of the Tournament title. The No. 1 seeded Bees and No. 2 seeded Tigers will battle it out in Davenport, Iowa tomorrow evening.

After winning the CCAC regular-season championship and gaining an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament, St. Ambrose is now a win away from adding a CCAC Tournament title.
A goal in the first minute is all it took for SAU to advance

St. Ambrose hosted the V-Hawks of Viterbo University and advanced to the CCAC Tournament semifinal match after a 1-0 victory this evening at St. Vincent's Athletic Complex. It was a red hot start for SAU as they scored within the first minute of the match, but could not connect again in the 90 minutes. Viterbo's defense stiffened and St. Ambrose's offense stalled as the final decision would end 1-0 in favor of SAU.

Last year, the Bees won their first CCAC regular-season championship for the first time since 2015 and now they have won it back-to-back in 2023 and 2024. St. Ambrose will now look ahead to the postseason battle.
