Men capture Chicago Sectional, head to Las Vegas for Nationals

For the seventh consecutive season, the SAU men's bowling team is headed to the national collegiate bowling championship tournament. The men put in an inspiring performance at the Chicago sectional by averaging 214 for 64 baker games, and totaling 13,701 pins, the highest pin total for any team in the nation.

The St. Ambrose men's and women's bowling teams are headed to Addison, Ill. – just outside Chicago – for this season's sectional qualifying tournament. In a live broadcast on Wednesday, the top 80 men's and women's teams in the nation were each placed in one of four sectional qualifying sites. The other qualifying sites were Smyrna, Tenn.; Allen Park, Mich.; and Fort Worth, Texas.

Men take runner-up, women finish fourth at Kohawk Challenge

SAU bowling competed in this past weekend's Kohawk Challenge in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, hosted by Coe College. The men's field consisted of 14 teams as St. Ambrose earned the runner-up spot, while the women finished fourth in a field of 10 teams.

Head bowling coach Eric Littig is pleased to announce Kayla Staub from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has recently signed a letter of intent to attend St. Ambrose University and bowl for the Fighting Bees beginning in the fall of 2025. Coach Littig and Kayla are pictured with her parents, Andy and Rebekah Staub.

Led by sophomore Kendric Siders, the St. Ambrose men's team emerged victorious at this past weekend's Warhawk Open. The team rebounded from a sub-par baker round on Sunday morning by storming through the eight-team finals bracket, going undefeated and posting a perfect 6-0 match play ledger to win the 21-team event.

The St. Ambrose bowlers competed at the annual Leatherneck Classic this past weekend. Hosted in Rockford, Ill., for the very first time, the event attracted 98 teams from across the country.

Marissa Bills (women's bowling) and Jayden Coetzer (men's swimming and diving) were named the Fighting Bees Female and Male Athletes of the Month in October, respectively, selected by the Sports information Department. The women's soccer team earned the October Team of the Month honors as they were unbeaten in the month of October to go on a seven-game win-streak.

The St. Ambrose men's Junior Varsity squad brought home the title this past weekend. Competing at the Five Seasons Classic, hosted by Mount Mercy, the JV1 team snuck out a narrow victory against the host school's JV1 squad.

The St. Ambrose women's bowling team enjoyed a successful weekend in Wauwatosa, Wis. Competing in the 53rd Annual Midwest Collegiate Championships, they faced off against 42 teams in the season's first Tier 1 event of the 2024-2025 campaign.
