Wolter and Thole honored on CCAC all-conference honor roll

Abby Wolter and Caitlyn Thole were both recognized by the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference today as members of the women's basketball all-conference teams. Wolter earned second team recognition while Thole was named to the honorable mention team for postseason awards.

SAU dominates Trinity Christian on senior day

February 22, 2025

St. Ambrose showed no mercy against the Trolls of Trinity Christian in a 78-42 victory in Lee Lohman Arena earlier this afternoon. SAU finished out their last game of the regular season shooting near 50% from the field. This win helps the Bees finish the season 9-18 overall and 7-13 in CCAC play.

St. Ambrose shot just over 31% from the field and knocked down only one 3-pointer all evening in the 86-52 loss to Saint Xavier in Lee Lohman arena yesterday evening. This loss drops SAU to 8-18 overall and 6-13 in conference play.

The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the winter sports All-Academic Teams earlier today. A total of 15 Bees were named to the All-Academic Teams this winter (9 men's basketball and 6 women's basketball). The St. Ambrose and St. Francis men's basketball teams led the CCAC in the number of All-Academic student-athletes with nine student-athletes. On the women's side, Abby Wolter held a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2025 Daktroncis NAIA Scholar-Athletes awards earlier today. Of the winter student-athletes at St. Ambrose, 66 (3 men's basketball, 4 women's basketball, 6 competitive cheer, 11 competitive dance, 25 men's swimming and diving, 12 women's swimming and diving, and 5 men's wrestling) were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

St. Ambrose falls to IUNW

St. Ambrose dropped a 77-51 road contest to Indiana Northwest this afternoon in Gary, Ind. Only six Bees scored for SAU in the loss. SAU was outscored in three of the four quarters.

Foul trouble stings Bees in key conference contest

February 13, 2025

SAU had slow first and third quarters as the V-Hawks upended the Bees 74-62 in a critical conference match in La Crosse, Wis. Foul trouble also put a toll on St. Ambrose as four starters were in foul trouble throughout the contest.

SAU suffers conference loss to IUSB

February 08, 2025

The Bees went cold from beyond the three-point line in the 65-50 conference loss to the Titans in Lee Lohman Arena this afternoon. SAU only netted three 3-pointers on 18 total attempts. These shooting faults allowed IUSB to extend their lead, but St. Ambrose stayed close as they shot 75% from the charity stripe (15-20).

Shooting lulls hurt St. Ambrose in loss to CCAC-leading Jaguars

February 06, 2025

St. Ambrose hosted the conference leader, Governors State (20-4, 14-2 CCAC), yesterday evening in Lee Lohman Arena and suffered a 72-51 loss to the Jaguars. The Bees played the Jaguars evenly through the halftime break and trailed by three, but a big 24-point third quarter by GSU proved to be the decision of the contest. SAU was hurt from beyond the arc as they only shot just over 14% from the three-point line (2-14). This loss drops St. Ambrose to 8-14 overall and 6-9 in conference play.

Bees blow out Eagles in conference win

February 01, 2025

St. Ambrose blew out the Eagles of Judson University 89-43 this afternoon in Lee Lohman Arena. The 89 points that the Bees put up this afternoon was a season-high for SAU. SAU put up 30 scores in the opening period alone as SAU was lights out and shot over 50% from the field. Four Bees (Olivia Harter, Abby Wolter, Mary Gruber, and Carrieanne Hungate) scored in double figures for St. Ambrose.
