Fighting Bees named as NAIA Scholar-Athletes

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2025 Daktroncis NAIA Scholar-Athletes awards earlier today. Of the winter student-athletes at St. Ambrose, 66 (3 men's basketball, 4 women's basketball, 6 competitive cheer, 11 competitive dance, 25 men's swimming and diving, 12 women's swimming and diving, and 5 men's wrestling) were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

St. Ambrose places nine on NAIA Dance All-American Team

St. Ambrose placed nine members on the NAIA Competitive Dance All-American Team, including seven on the first team. The list includes Sara Gundacker and Josie Kaffenberger, who posted the top scores in the tryout process to be named NAIA Competitive co-Dancers of the Year.

Seeking a third-straight NAIA National Championship, the SAU Dance Team came up 0.16 short. St. Ambrose had to settle for second place at the 9th Annual Nfinity NAIA Competitive Dance National hampionship at the George Gervin GameAbove Center on the campus of Eastern Michigan University.

The SAU Cheer and Dance Teams each rolled to another regular-season competition title Saturday. The Cheer Team defeated Aquinas while the Dance Team defeated three other programs at the Saints Showdown in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The competitive cheer and dance programs at St. Ambrose University have officially found a home as of last week, the American Midwest Conference. The Fighting Bees officially joined the AMC as a single-sport member, the league announced.
