
Kaffenberger named AMC Dance Performer of the Year
Thanks to leading St. Ambrose to the inaugural American Midwest Conference (AMC) Competitive Dance Championship, Josie Kaffenberger was named the AMC Performer of the Year.
She was named the award recipient at the AMC Championships in Columbia, Mo., Friday.
Kaffenberger, the reigning NAIA Competitive Dancer of the Year, was also one of six Bees to earn first team all-conference honors. She was joined on the team by Leah Zeimet, Lexi Crook, Maddy Barnes, Sara Gundacker and Sydnie Offermann. SAU earned six spots on the 10-member team.
Shea Denahy was named to the all-AMC second team.
Zeimet was named the St. Ambrose representative for the AMC Dance Champions of Character Award.
SAU also led the league with 20 academic all-conference selections. Recognized for their academic achievements were Zeimet, Addie Hendrick, Emma Schoonover, Emma Torgler, Evelyn Shaw, Grace Berman, Grace Sheldon, Josephine Lai, Kaffenberger, Karli Langley, Karsyn Kuffler, Kyla Shaw, Lexi Crook, Lilly Lowenberg, Barnes, Maggie Schreiber, Olivia Bassier, Gundacker, Denahy and Offermann.
