Bees snap skid with dominating win over Crimson Wave

Ten different Bees had at least two kills as St. Ambrose snapped a recent losing streak with a dominating 25-9, 25-6, 25-17 win over Calumet St. Joseph. Tuesday's victory inside Lee Lohman Arena moved the Bees to 7-20 overall and 6-8 in CCAC play.

SAU trailed just once, that coming at 1-0 to start the third set. The Bees immediately responded with six straight points behind the serving of Jill Kavalauskas and were never seriously threatened from there.

Madisyn Johnson led the team with 10 kills. Abby Happ had six, Kavalauskas and Jenny Koerner each had five, and Rachael Dion added four. Jessica Hemm (3), London Williams (3), Brea Cunningham (2), Alexis Hayes (2) and Payton Wendt (2) also recorded multiple kills.

SAU totaled 43 kills as a team and finished with a .351 hitting percentage. Calumet (2-22, 0-14 CCAC) had just 10 kills while registering 16 hitting errors.

Maicee Pierce had a match-best 16 assists while Amber Tomlin collected 15. Pierce and Tomlin each also picked up three service aces helping St. Ambrose finish with nine as a team.

Emma Marshall was credited with 10 digs in the victory.

After snapping a seven-game losing streak, the Bees will look to win their second straight Thursday with a match at Roosevelt.
