Members of the St. Ambrose women's soccer team worked with United States soccer legends Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly, and Tisha Venturini Hoch at the TeamFirst Soccer Academy camp at the Ambrose Dome on March 12 & 13.

"This was simply an incredible experience and opportunity for this team as players and my staff and I as coaches," said head coach Jon Mannall. "As coaches, we are always looking for an edge, small things to make a difference. These inspirational players, competitors, and champions were full of nuances around the game that provided an edge in their incredible careers," added Mannall.

The camp offered two sessions - one for ages 6-13 and another for ages 14-and-up. Both age group sessions were in the Dome on Saturday, and the 6-13 age group came back on Sunday.

"To say this experience was incredible is an understatement," said Keeli Frerichs. "It was an honor to coach alongside three soccer legends at this camp," she added. "Our team took full advantage of this camp, enhancing our understanding of both the mental and physical side of soccer, as well as what it means to be a personality, player, and factor on the field. We acquired many new techniques and skills to add to our toolbox and apply to the game of soccer," noted Frerichs. "Thank you Mia, Kristine, and Tisha!"

Mannall stated, "It was impossible for our team not to walk away from this experience inspired, educated, and motivated. A once in a lifetime opportunity!"
