Bees withstand weather delay to post a 1-0 road win

Morgan Wahlen scored the lone goal as St. Ambrose withstood a 96-minute weather delay to record a 1-0 win at Culver-Stockton Wednesday night.

Wahlen's goal came in the 25th minute off an assist from Katie Reitz. It was one of just two shots in the first half for the Bees.

After the weather delayed the start of the second half, SAU managed just one more shot - that coming from Tori Timerman - the rest of the way.

But Molly McLaughlin and the St. Ambrose defense was up to the challenge. The Bees allowed just eight total shots, three after halftime, to hand Culver-Stockton (3-1) its first loss of the year. McLaughlin was credited with three saves for her second shutout of the season, both coming in 1-0 victories.

SAU will next host Grand View Saturday. The match is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. at St. Vincent's.
