St. Ambrose falls in doubleheader to St. Thomas

The Bees kept themselves in the game in a close doubleheader against the Bobcats.

In game 1, St. Ambrose collected 4 hits against St. Thomas. Becca Haag led the team with 2 hits followed by Reagan Engberg and Ellie Downing each with 1 hit. The first scoring attempt came in the top of the 3rd inning when Downing singled through the left side, then advanced to 3rd base on a fielder's choice from Mya Millsaps. She was left stranded to end the inning.

The Bees final scoring attempt in game 1 came in the top of the 4th inning when Justice Krus reached on an error from the Cougars. Krus then advanced to 3rd base on a right field single from Engberg. The inning ended with Krus getting caught in a pickle between 3rd base and home due to a stolen base attempt by Engberg.

In game 2, the Bees took the lead early in the 3rd inning. Ada Boysen reached 1st base on a fielder's choice, made her way around the bases, and scored on a sacrifice fly ball from Maddy Reed. Boysen scored the Bees final run of the day in the top of the 5th inning on a single through the ride side by Kylee Claypool. The Cougars' bats came alive in the bottom of the 6th extending their lead by 3 runs.

Kylee Claypool lead the team in hits recording 2 with 1 RBI in game 2. Ada Boysen had a break out day recording 1 hit, 2 runs, 1 double, and a stolen base. Ellie Downing collected 1 hit and Maddy Reed recorded 1 RBI. Allyson Harrold pitched 5 innings against the Cougars ringing up 4 stikeouts.
