St. Ambrose cannot overcome the offensive power of Judson

The Bees are still looking for their first conference win as Judson overcame St. Ambrose 2-0 with a goal in each half at Dawson Field to put the Bees out of striking distance. SAU could not seem to create many scoring chances for themselves against a stout Eagles defense as they only created two shots in the match. Kai Domagala and the Bees defense were faced with 15 total shots in the match.

Judson started the match with their first shot on goal coming in the eight minute of play to force a Domagala save early on. Seconds later, Judson would fire off another shot that was blocked by the Bees defense as they continued to fend off the Eagles. The first shot for the Bees came in the 16th minute of action to put the Eagles on their heels. Otherwise, a lot of possession would occur in the middle of the field for both teams.

Until the 36th minute of play, Judson picked up a loose ball in the middle of the field and transitioned towards net. The Eagles slipped a shot right past the Bees goal keeper to lead 1-0 in the first half. Not much action would arise from any side as the Bees went into the break down by only a goal.

Momentum was looking to be on the rise for SAU as they registered two corner kicks within 30 seconds of one another. They seemed to have the ball pinned in their offensive third but an offsides call would diminish any scoring chance.

Domagala and the SAU defense would continue to deny Judson of any chances until late in the match, Judson fired a shot from distance that would ping off the crossbar to give the Bees some time to breathe. No more than two minutes later, the Eagles scored their second goal of the match to double their lead. There would be little time remaining in the match for the Bees to post a comeback.

This defeat drops St. Ambrose to 0-6-2 on the season and 0-3-0 in conference play.

David Sanchez-Teba and Owen Gannaway each secured a shot on goal.

Domagala posted all 90 minutes in net for the Bees as he earned six saves and faced eight shots.

As the Bees look forward, they will travel to Indiana-Northwest this upcoming Tues., Oct. 8. Kick off is scheduled for 6 p.m. CST at Sparta Dome.
