
Bees to host Missouri Baptist in Heart Tournament semifinals
As the regular-season runner-up, St. Ambrose will host Missouri Baptist in a Heart of America Conference Tournament semifinal Wednesday at 7 p.m. at St. Vincent's Athletic Complex.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students.
The two teams met once during the regular season, and the Bees came away with a 13-9 win over the Spartans in St. Louis, Mo. SAU outscored MBU 7-3 in the second half to pull away for the victory.
Missouri Baptist advanced to the Heart semifinals by defeating William Woods in a first-round game Saturday.
St. Ambrose finished Heart play with a 7-2 conference record, finishing just behind No. 10 William Penn (9-0 Heart) in the league standings. WPU will host Benedictine in the conference tournament's other semifinal Wednesday night. Benedictine got past Columbia in a first-round matchup.
The two semifinal winners will meet for the Heart of America Tournament championship Saturday, Apr. 26, at the site of the highest remaining seed.
