St. Ambrose No. 1 seed in KCAC Tournament

St. Ambrose will look to continue their regular-season success into the postseason, starting with the KCAC Tournament semifinals on April 21st in Atchison, Kansas. The Fighting Bees earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament after going undefeated in conference play. SAU will face defending tournament champions, Columbia College, on Thursday at 4 p.m. St. Ambrose took the regular-season matchup, 15-8 on March 13th. 

The Bees are led offensively by Michael Shakerin who has top marks on the team in goals (34), assists (25), and points (59). Other offensive leaders include Michael Keating (23g, 18a), Cole Danner (25g, 13a), Sam Kerr (30g, 5a), Christian Dimaano (18g, 16a), Isaiah Hahn (12g, 15a), and Makaile Shaddix (16g, 4a). 

Defensively, Nolan Hayes leads the way for St. Ambrose. Hayes ranks 1st in the NAIA in save percentage (70.1%), 2nd in goals-against average (5.95), and 4th in goals against. Hayes has made 124 saves this season. Dylan Witt has caused a team-high 22 turnovers, with Hayden Latham close behind with 19. Ben BlankenshipGavin Flynn, and Shakerin have reached double-digits in caused turnovers as well. Hunter Northway has collected 121 ground balls this season while winning 181 faceoffs. Northway ranks 3rd in the NAIA in faceoff wins and ground balls. Keating and Latham have both collected 51.
