Spriggs named CCAC Defensive Player of the Week

CHICAGO --- Indiana University Northwest's Trace Williams (Flossmoor, Ill.) secured his third Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week award and St. Ambrose University's Will Spriggs (Jacksonville, Fla.) his second when the league office announced its final regular-season weekly honorees on Tuesday morning.

Spriggs matched an offensive weekly award from earlier this season with a defensive one this time around.  He delivered six steals, two blocks and three rebounds (two defensive) to go along with a career-high 35 points and four assists in a 103-101 setback to Saint Xavier University last Wednesday.  That was followed by another 18 points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal in a 78-72 win against Trinity Christian College on Saturday.

For the two games combined, the senior guard averaged 3.5 steals, 1.0 blocks, 3.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 26.5 points per game.

St. Ambrose went 15-12 overall during the regular season with an 8-12 record in the CCAC.
