Season ends with loss at Olivet Nazarene

The Bees didn't go down without a fight.

St. Ambrose fought off a pair of match points before ultimately falling 25-22, 25-21, 26-24 in the season finale at Olivet Nazarene Thursday night. SAU ends the year 7-24 overall and 6-12 in the CCAC.

Trailing 24-22 in the third, the Bees extended their season a couple extra points thanks to a kill from Jill Kavalauskas and a Tiger hitting error. But things ended there as Olivet Nazarene (17-11, 14-4 CCAC) won the next two points to close out the win.

Kavalauskas led all players with both 14 kills and 19 digs. She had just three hitting errors.

Jenny Koerner put down eight kills and Madisyn Johnson added five. Playing in their final match, seniors Abby Happ and Brea Cunningham ended with three kills and two kills, respectively.

Amber Tomlin had a match-high 31 assists. Emma Marshall collected 14 digs while Happ and Tomlin had eight apiece.
