St. Ambrose drops four-setter at Cardinal Stritch

St. Ambrose was unable to build off a fast start in falling 3-1 at Cardinal Stritch Saturday night. The Bees took the opener before falling 16-25, 25-20, 27-25, 25-16 to fall to 7-22 overall and 6-10 in the conference.

SAU used the 1-2 punch of Jill Kavalauskas and Jenny Koerner. Kavalauskas finished with 18 kills and Koerner was right behind with 16.

Jessica Hemm recorded seven kills and Rachael Dion chipped in with four.

Kavalauskas also led the team with 13 digs. Emma Marshall picked up 10 and Maicee Pierce was credited with eight.

Amber Tomlin shared match-high honors with 42 assists.

The Bees finished with 53 kills, six more than the Wolves, but SAU also had more than double the number of hitting errors than CSU (27-13).

St. Ambrose will host Trinity International Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the team's final home match of the year.
