
St. Ambrose sets school record at NAIA Championships
St. Ambrose came home from the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships with a new school record.
The men's 4x800m relay team of Chris Miserendino, Trae Corby, Tommy Ashby and Dylan Grandon established a new school mark with a time of 7:40.15. That was good for 10th place.
The record came on the first day of the NAIA Championships held at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Fla.
Also Thursday, Will Dowda, Javon Bruce, Tyler Moody and Luke Benes teamed for a time of 10:22.68 in the men's distance medley relay. They finished 21st overall.
The Bees narrowly missed out on several other top-10 finishes.
Friday saw Dylan Grandon place 11th in the men's 600m run with a time of 1:20.01. Chris Miserendino's time of 2:28.38 in the men's 1000m run was good for 12th place. And Lexi Minard, SAU's lone women's qualifier, took 17th in the women's 3000m run in 10:33.33.
Jonah Wilson and Kyle Uhl closed out the Championships Saturday in the shot put. Wilson finished 12th with a throw of 16.06 meters.
The men's 4x400m relay team of Charles Huesmann, Ben Wilson, Alex Fuller and Jackson Baedke was disqualified.
The team will now turn to the outdoor season, beginning at the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis, Mo., Mar. 28.
