SAU second in 2021 KCAC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll

WICHITA, Kan. — The Ravens of Benedictine College came out on top in the 2021 KCAC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll, the conference office announced Wednesday. Benedictine tallied 90 total points, and nine of a possible ten first-place votes from head women's lacrosse coaches in the conference.

St. Ambrose came in second in the poll, picking up 82 total points and receiving the final first-place vote. The Bees were 3-2 to start the 2019-20 season before COVID-19 brought the season to a halt, including wins against two teams receiving votes in the NAIA Women's Lacrosse Coaches Poll. St. Ambrose is led by Katie Baranski, a member of last season's All-KCAC preseason team. The Bees also return Erin Green, Audrey Warner, Maddie Wiltrout, and Mackenzie Zions who each had 10 or more points last season. Both goalies who saw action a year ago - Katie Burr and Allison Claus - also return.

SAU is scheduled to start their season February 20th at noon in Davenport, Iowa against Bethel College (Ind.).
