SAU battles back to get win

SAU battled back from an early four goal deficit to get the victory over Siena Heights, 13-9, Saturday in Chicago, Ill.

Erin Green got the Bees on the scoreboard first, but the Saints answered with five straight goals to go up 5-1. Katie Baranski scored a free-position goal for St. Ambrose to cut into the lead, but Siena Heights responded with a goal of their own. Goals from Green, Baranski, and Maddie Wiltrout cut the deficit to one until SHU scored one more before halftime. The teams traded goals to start the second half. Then SAU went on a 4-0 run to take a 10-8 lead. Audrey Warner (from Mackenzie Zions), Wiltrout (from Green), and Zions twice (one from Morgan Curzon, one from Baranski) found the back of the net for the Bees. The Saints scored only once more, and St. Ambrose finished the game with goals from Zions (Baranski assist), Baranski, and Lauren Hoesly (Baranski assist).

SAU outshot their opponent 36-28 and dominated the draw controls winning 17.

Katie Burr was credited with eight saves in the victory.
