Lytle, Langlois and Kwak recognized by CCAC
After a second-straight conference championship and a third consecutive trip to the NAIA National Championships, St. Ambrose was recognized when the CCAC announced its postseason women's golf awards.
Amara Lytle was named to the all-CCAC First Team, Gabrielle Langlois was selected to the second team and Kevin Kwak was honored as the CCAC Coach of the Year.
Lytle, also a first-team selection in 2022 and 2024, was the runner-up at the CCAC Championships. It was one of three all-tournament-team efforts for the senior from Cedar Falls, Iowa. Lytle also took second at the Augustana Viking Classic after rounds of 76 and 73 for a 149, and was fifth at the Mount Mercy Spring Invitational. She averaged an 85.25 over 12 rounds this season. Lytle, the 2022 CCAC Freshman of the Year, earned second-team all-conference accolades in 2023.
Langlois averaged an 89.6 over 20 rounds this season. The junior from Wheaton, Ill., posted six top-20 finishes, including a fourth-place effort to earn all-tournament team honors at the CCAC Championships.
Leading the team was Kwak, who picked up his second straight CCAC Coach of the Year award. Kwak and assistant coach Tim Foss engineered a second-round comeback at the conference championships. Down 14 shots entering the final round, the Bees recovered with a 336 to win the conference crown going away. Four Bees finished inside the top 10 at the conference tournament, including three in the top five.
