Langlois earns top-15 finish at Duhawk Fall Invite

Gabrielle Langlois finished in a tie for 15th place to lead St. Ambrose at the Loras Duhawk Fall Invitational played at The Meadows in Asbury, Iowa, Sunday and Monday.

Langlois shot one of the Bees' two sub-90 rounds, opening the seven-team tournament with an 89. She followed that with a 92 for a 181 total. She ended just two shots out of a top-10 finish.

Addy Heineke ended inside the top 25. She fired a 98 before coming back with an 89 for a 187 and a share of 24th place.

The other three Bees, like Heineke, climbed the leaderboard Monday.

Aleanna Mendoza followed her first-round 98 with a 94 for a 192. Anna Hurning made the biggest improvement. She carded a 105 before firing a 95 Monday for a 200 total. Caitlin McDonagh also shot a 200 with rounds of 102 and 98.

St. Ambrose put together a 17-shot improvement from Day 1 to Day 2 to finish in fifth place as a team. SAU had rounds of 387 and 370 for a 757. 

Playing as an individual, Tavia Dowell came in with a 189. She shot rounds of 95 and 94.

Wis.-Platteville won the team title with a 685 (342-343). Coe College's Kye Daywitt claimed medalist honors with a 162 (80-82).

The Bees will next compete in the Bill Johnson Memorial at Cinder Ridge in Wilmington, Ill., Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
