McClintock, Schumacher and Stenger named to all-CCAC team

all-CCAC softball release

For the second straight season, Olivia McClintock was named first team all-CCAC as the conference announced its 2022 postseason softball awards.

McClintock, who also earned first-team recognition in 2021 and was placed on the second team in 2019, was one of three Bees named to the all-conference team. Alyssa Schumacher also garnered first-team honors and Kayla Stenger was named second team all-CCAC.

It was a record-breaking senior season for McClintock. Already the program's all-time stolen base leader with 82 entering the season, the Chatham, Ill., native padded her total with a school-record 47 steals this season. That is currently the best mark in the conference and the ninth-best total in the NAIA. She was caught stealing just three times this year.

The center fielder and lead-off hitter batted .418 with seven doubles, two triples, 15 RBIs and 48 runs scored while playing in all 44 games. She is among the conference leaders in runs scored (second), total hits (fourth with 61), on-base percentage (eighth at .476) and batting average (ninth).

McClintock finishes her St. Ambrose career among the program's top 10 in several categories: third with 125 runs scored, sixth with 184 hits, seventh with a .391 batting average, and the team's top base stealer with 129, which are 48 more than second place on the list.

Schumacher finished second to McClintock on the team with a .411 batting average to join her teammate on the first team. Schumacher finished 44-for-107 with 12 doubles and three triples. The sophomore shortstop from Whitewater, Wis., drove in 29 and scored 14 runs. She ranks seventh in the CCAC in doubles, eighth in triples, ninth with a .475 on-base percentage and 11th in batting average. Schumacher also led the team with a .579 slugging percentage.

Stenger split time behind the plate and at third base while batting .336 (38-for-113) to earn second-team recognition. The junior from Bloomington, Ill., led the Bees with 13 doubles and shared the team lead with two home runs. She also collected two triples, 32 RBIs and 15 runs scored. Stenger is fourth in the conference in doubles, sixth in walks (20) and 11th in RBIs.

St. Ambrose finished 27-17 overall.
