After getting named first team all-CCAC for their work on the field, Olivia McClintock and Alyssa Schumacher were recognized by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for their work in the classroom.

The two Bees were voted to the 2022 Academic All-District Softball Team and now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in June. The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.30 cumulative grade point averages.

McClintock and Schumacher represent District 3, which includes NAIA colleges from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

McClintock, a senior from Chatham, Ill., batted .418 with seven doubles, two triples, 15 RBIs and 48 runs scored. The center fielder and leadoff hitter set a program record with 47 stolen bases this season, upping her school-record career total to 129. McClintock, one of just three outfielders named to the academic all-district team, is majoring in Exercise Science.

Schumacher, from Whitewater, Wis., was second to McClintock with a .411 batting average. The sophomore shortstop was one of five infielders selected to the team after finishing with 12 doubles and three triples to lead the team with a .579 slugging percentage. Schumacher knocked in 29 runs and scored 14 times. She is majoring in Art & Design and Art History.
