McClintock sets single-season stolen base record

McClintock sets single-season stolen base record

Already the program's all-time leader in career stolen bases, Olivia McClintock put her name at the top of the school's single-season list Sunday.

The senior centerfielder swiped five bases in a doubleheader sweep of Judson giving her 37 steals this season. That surpassed the record of 33 set by Sarah Frerichs in 2013. McClintock set the mark by stealing second in the bottom of the fourth inning of the first game (video below courtesy SAUtv). It was her second steal of the contest; she added three more steals in the nightcap.

The five steals also upped her career total to 119. Julie Trellicoso is second all-time with 81.

McClintock stole 32 bases as a freshman in 2019, added 23 more in 2020 and recorded 27 last season.
