McClintock, Oliver named CCAC Players of the Week

CHICAGO --- Key pieces to St. Ambrose University's perfect 4-0 week, Olivia McClintock (Chatham, Ill.) claimed Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week honors, while Alyia Oliver (Springfield, Ill.) was recognized as the CCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week when the league office made the announcement Tuesday morning.

McClintock boasted a .571 batting average with hits in all four contests, including multiple-hit games three times. In all, she went 8-for-14 with one double, seven runs scored, two runs batted in and seven stolen bases. She also walked two times giving her a .625 on-base percentage for the week.

The senior outfielder posted back-to-back two-hit games in a split doubleheader versus College of Saint Mary (Neb.) and Hannibal-LaGrange University (Mo.) on Friday before going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two stolen bases versus Saint Mary on Saturday.

Oliver, meanwhile, played a role in each of the victories with her two wins and two saves in the circle. The sophomore allowed only one run in each of her four appearances for a 1.75 earned run average, which covered 16 innings.

Oliver claimed wins versus Saint Mary on Friday and Concordia University (Mich.) on Saturday. The latter was a complete-game effort in a 6-1 victory. She went the first five innings in the 6-2 decision over Saint Mary.

St. Ambrose is now 12-3 on the season.
