McClintock, Frerichs named first team all-CCAC; Oliver on second team

CCAC release

Olivia McClintock and Logan Frerichs were named first team all-conference and Alyia Oliver was selected to the second team as the CCAC announced its postseason softball team.

McClintock, a second team all-conference selection in 2019, earned first team honors after batting .394 with five doubles and 26 runs scored. The junior outfielder from Chatham, Ill., was a perfect 27-for-27 in stolen bases, currently ranking ninth in the NAIA by averaging 0.87 steals per game. Her 27 stolen bases this year give her 82 in her SAU career, which is the top mark in program history.

Frerichs batted .382 with four doubles and three triples. She drove in 21 runs and scored 14 times. The senior from St. Joseph, Ill., split time between the outfield and second base and committed just a single error in 56 chances for the Bees this season. Frerichs was also successful in all seven of her stolen base attempts.

Oliver stepped right in as a freshman and led the team with 11 wins and a 3.36 earned run average. The lefthander from Springfield, Ill., made 13 starts among her 25 appearances, throwing a team-high 83 1/3 innings. Oliver also contributed offensively, picking up 10 hits, including three doubles, in her 21 at bats.

St. Ambrose finished 19-12 overall and fourth in the conference with a 12-8 league mark.
