St. Ambrose to host CCAC Championships
St. Ambrose will serve as host of the 2024 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Cross Country Championships Saturday at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf, Iowa.
The women's 6K will start at 11 a.m. and the men's 8K will follow at 11:45 a.m.
Nine conference schools will race for the CCAC crown and an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Colombia, Mo., Nov. 22. Along with the winning team, the top four individuals not on a qualifying team who finish inside the top 15 will receive a berth to the NAIA Championships.
The women's conference race will feature a pair of teams ranked in the NAIA Coaches' Rating. St. Francis is currently No. 17 and Olivet Nazarene is two spots back at No. 19. On the men's side, St. Francis is ranked No. 21 in the NAIA. Olivet Nazarene and Saint Xavier both sit just outside the top 25. The SAU men also received votes in the national ratings earlier this season.
The top 15 finishers at the CCAC Championships will earn all-conference recognition.
