Luke Benes named CCAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week
CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University's Luke Benes (Chicago, Ill.) has secured the first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award for 2024, the league office announced on Wednesday morning.
Benes gained the recognition by placing third out of 134 runners at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Twilight Invitational on Friday. The senior ran a 15:35.2 over the 5K distance, which was just six seconds off the pace of the top finisher.
As a team, St. Ambrose placed fourth among 11 teams competing.
