
Bees wrestle at Cliff Keen Mike Duroe Invite
Tyler Casey placed sixth to lead a small contingent of Bees at the Cliff Keen Mike Duroe Invitational hosted by Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, Saturday.
Casey won three matches, including an opening-round win via pinfall in 1:12, in the heavyweight bracket. He then eked out a 3-2 decision to reach the quarterfinals. There, he fell 6-5 in sudden victory to drop to the consolation bracket. Casey rebounded to claim a win by injury default at the 1:31 mark. After a loss, Casey settled for sixth place after losing by medical forfeit in the fifth-place match.
Josh Zeman earned a pair of wins in the 149-pound bracket. He started his run with a 14-4 major decision and reached the quarterfinals by pinning his opponent in 2:46. Consecutive losses, including a tight 7-6 decision, ended his tournament.
Three Bees each won a single match.
Colin O'Grady posted a fall in 6:24 in a bout at 184 pounds. Jeremiah Morris and Abdullah Razzak each won a match at heavyweight. Morris needed 3:27 to pin an opponent and Razzak claimed a 12-5 decision.
Riley Woods (149 pounds), Tate O'Shea (149 pounds) and Keandre Miles (heavyweight) also wrestled for St. Ambrose.
SAU will compete in the Missouri Valley Invitational next Friday and Saturday.
