Fourteen named to the Heart-Scholar list
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced the 2023-24 Heart-Scholar Athletes. St. Ambrose, an associate HAAC member, had 14 student-athletes named to the team.
Respresenting St. Ambrose from four different programs is Ian Ban (men's lacrosse), Joe Campbell (men's lacrosse), Lachlan Hodge (men's lacrosse), Makaile Shaddix (men's lacrosse), Tyler Yetka (men's lacrosse), Sarah Diehl (women's lacrosse), Lauren Hoesly (women's lacrosse), Abby Messina (women's lacrosse), Abby Taaffe (women's lacrosse), Noah Gonzalez (wrestling), Kole Kreinbring (wrestling), Dylan Meiners (wrestling), Ryan Kruse (esports), and Jordan Pollard (eports).
To be elgibile for the scholar-athlete award each student-athlete must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher (on a 4.0 scale), accumulated a minimum of 60 credit hours (undergraduate and/or graduate), completed at least 5 semesters and attended the nominating institution for at least two semesters prior to being nominated, and have documentation of the student-athlete participating in a varsity competition in the sport for which they are being nominated for.
Esports, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, and men's wrestling are members of the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
