St. Ambrose dropped a pair of matches to top-five opponents at a Tri-Match hosted by Saint Xavier Saturday. The Bees fell to No. 2 Saint Xavier 25-16, 25-18, 25-22 before losing to #4 Lawrence Tech 25-10, 25-18, 26-24.
SAU was hurt by 15 serving errors in the conference loss to CCAC-leading Saint Xavier. That came against just one service ace.
Michael Bos led the Bees with 10 kills. Pedro Zang had nine. Kam Dixon finished with six and Charlie Flynn added five.
Anthony Anderson passed out a team-best 26 assists and led the team with eight digs. Dixon picked up seven digs while Zang and Ethan Karban both came up with four.
Dixon (14) and Zang (13) led St. Ambrose in kills in the loss to Lawrence Tech. Kainalu Ka'ahanui ended with two.
Anderson again led the team with 22 assists. Karban was credited with 10 digs and Ka'ahanui picked up eight.
SAU, now 13-14 overall and 6-4 in the CCAC, will visit Trinity Christian Tuesday.
