Bageanis named first team all-CCAC, Marushige and Snyder on second team

all-CCAC Men's Volleyball Team

Three St. Ambrose seniors were named to the all-CCAC men's volleyball team. Jason Bageanis earned first-team honors while Skyler Marushige and Jake Snyder were each named to the second team.

Bageanis, himself a second-team selection in both 2020 and 2021, was one of just three Bees to appear in all 27 matches this season. The middle hitter from Riverside, Ill., let the team with 274 kills and a .392 hitting percentage. He put down double-digit kills in 14 different matches and his average of 2.71 kills per set is currently the 10th-best mark in the conference. Bageanis also contributed defensively, finishing with 73 total blocks, just one off the team lead.

With 631 career kills, Bageanis is 19th in program history. He is also eighth on the school's all-time list with 252 career blocks.

Marushige appeared in just 18 matches but finished second on the team with 170 kills, an average of 2.62 per set. The right-side from San Diego, Calif., collected 10 or more kills in 10 matches, which included a career-best 29 kills against Bluefield College on Mar. 13. The 29 kills are the second-most by a Bee in a single match in program history.

Snyder, a setter from Mokena, Ill., is currently fourth in the CCAC in assists with 710 while appearing in only 22 matches. He posted 13 matches of at least 30 assists. Snyder also collected 75 kills, 86 digs, 34 total blocks and a team-leading 22 aces this season. He is one of just six players to record more than 2,500 assists at St. Ambrose, finishing his Bee career with 2,600.
