Snyder, Clark and Fox named CCAC Players of the Week

CHICAGO --- For the first time this season, St. Ambrose University has swept the latest round of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's volleyball weekly awards, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. Jaylen Clark (Las Vegas, Nev.), Nick Fox (Elmwood Park, Ill.) and Jake Snyder (Mokena, Ill.) made it happen with their strong play during the week of March 15-21, which included two wins over teams receiving votes in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll.

Snyder gained his third CCAC Setter of the Week recognition after authoring a pair of double-doubles and averaging 9.4 assists and 1.8 digs per set over three matches last week.

The first double-double came on Thursday in a four-set win over William Penn University, where the junior totaled 33 assists and ten digs. The other double-double came two days later in a five-set loss to Judson when he recorded 46 assists and 12 digs.

Snyder's biggest assist match of the week came last Tuesday when he produced 52 against league foe Cardinal Stritch University in a five-set victory.

Clark also was back on the awards stand netting his second Attacker of the Week honor. The 6-2 junior middle hitter turned in solid all-around numbers over the three matches with his 3.4 kills and 1.5 digs per set averages, .250 attack percentage, four aces and 11 blocks (two solo, nine assist).

In the win over Cardinal Stritch, Clark totaled 15 kills, eight digs and six blocks. His biggest kill effort came on Saturday when he amassed 18 to go along with four assist blocks against Judson.

Gaining CCAC Defender of the Week accolades was Fox. The 6-4 junior middle hitter was a blocking machine over the three matches averaging 1.6 per set with two solo and 19 assist blocks total.

Fox's big match of the week came on Tuesday when he collected eight blocks (one solo, seven assist) and 14 digs versus Cardinal Stritch. He also had the same block totals on Saturday versus Judson.

St. Ambrose's 2-1 week put the Fighting Bees at 10-13 on the season.
