Snyder named CCAC Setter of the Week

CHICAGO --- The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced Trinity Christian College's Alex Costa (Oak Lawn, Ill.) and Jake Ostema (Orland Park, Ill.) and St. Ambrose University's Jake Snyder (Mokena, Ill.) as its men's volleyball players of the week for the seven-day period ending Feb. 14.

Playing in his first three contests of the season after a nine-match absence due to injury, Snyder was an immediate force in the lineup leading St. Ambrose to its first three wins of the campaign. The 6-0 junior setter totaled no less than 33 assists in any of his three matches last week to earn CCAC Setter of the Week distinction.

Snyder averaged 10.36 assists and 1.27 digs per set over the three matches, while also contributing six kills, five aces and four blocks.

In his first match back, Snyder totaled 42 assists in a four-set conference victory against St. Ambrose University. He tallied another 33 and 39 assists in two more wins over University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis (Mo.) and Clarke University (Iowa).

St. Ambrose is 3-9 on the season following its perfect 3-0 week.
