Bees win outright CCAC regular season championship

Already guaranteed a share of the regular season conference championship and the right to host next weekend's CCAC Tournament, No. 10 St. Ambrose won the conference crown outright by taking down Judson 3-0 Thursday night in Elgin, Ill.

The 25-22, 25-21, 25-18 win moved the Bees to 13-9 overall and the team finished CCAC play with a 10-2 league mark.

Scott MacGillis led all players with 11 kills in Thursday's win. Zach Schmidt had seven and Jaylen Clark added six. The Bees finished with 38 kills and a .356 hitting percentage as a team.

Jake Snyder (15) and Adam Campbell (10) combined for 25 of SAU's 35 assists.

Ricardo Ubior was credited with a team-high eight digs. Avery Clark picked up seven and Robby Hoffman finished with six. Dylan Herridge recorded two of the Bees' three aces.

Before turning the focus to the CCAC Tournament on April 5-6, SAU will close the regular season Friday night at home against Clarke. The Senior Night match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
