Snyder and Hoffman named CCAC Players of the Week

CHICAGO --- Kyle Springer (Oak Forest, Ill.) of Saint Xavier University and Robby Hoffman (Mokena, Ill.) and Jake Snyder (Mokena, Ill.) of St. Ambrose University have claimed the latest round of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Player of the Week awards, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon. All three players were selected for their performances during the week of Jan. 21-27.

Hoffman was named the CCAC Defender of the Week and Snyder earned CCAC Setter of the Week recognition after leading No. 6 St. Ambrose to a 3-0 start to the season.

Hoffman committed just two receiving errors in 59 chances for a .966 reception percentage over the three matches covering eight sets. Included in that count was his 37 receptions in 38 chances in a four-set win over No. 9 Clarke on Saturday. The senior defensive specialist also registered 13 digs in the same match and finished with a 2.63 average for the week.

Snyder produced a total of 112 assists in his ten sets played in the three wins to finish with an 11.2 per set average. The sophomore setter's best performance came to close out the weekend, totaling 42 assists and nine digs in the win over Clarke.
