SAU tallies 20 goals in big win over Lynx

Eleven different Bees scored a goal in a 20-1 win over Lindenwood-Belleville Friday night at the St. Vincent Athletic Complex.

Danny Kinnerk led the way with four goals while Myles Leyden scored three times. Four Bees had two goals in the win that moved the team to 6-7 overall.

In a dominating first quarter, St. Ambrose scored six goals within the game's first six minutes with Kinnerk and Leyden each scoring two of those goals. SAU outshot LU-B 22-2 in that opening period in building a 9-0 lead. The Bees finished with a 56-11 edge in shots for the game.

The lead was 10-0 on a Jared Morgan goal two minutes into the second quarter before the Lynx ended the shutout. Another Leyden goal in the final minute increased the lead to 11-1 at the half.

The Bees put up seven goals in the third before scoring just twice more in the fourth.

Thomas Kelly, Austin Adams, Justin O'Marrah and Morgan each had a pair of goals. Thomas Parker, Louis Mallillin, Hunter Northway, Chris Scislowski and Jim Flavin also scored for the Bees.

Parker was also credited with five assists and Scislowski had two. Leyden, Kinnerk, Morgan and Elijah Gash also had assists.

Adam Kasper, Andrew Lis and Johnny Moran combined to make six saves in the win.

St. Ambrose returns to the field Saturday for Senior Night. The match at St. Vincent's against Missouri Baptist will start at 5 p.m.
