Bees use big second half to defeat Pride 22-8

St. Ambrose outscored Clarke 13-3 in the second half to pull away for a 22-8 win in Dubuque Wednesday night.

The Bees finished with a dominating 71-20 edge in shots in improving to 5-5 overall and 1-2 in the KCAC.

Eight different Bees scored at least one goal, and seven of those had at least two. Myles Leyden, Jared Morgan and Chris Scislowski led the way with four goals apiece. Danny Kinnerk had a hat trick and Thomas Parker, Elijah Gash and Sam Kerr each scored two goals.

Scislowski scored all four of his goals in helping SAU to a 9-5 halftime lead. The Pride scored first in the third quarter before the Bees took over.

Leyden and Gash each scored twice, and Morgan, Kerr and Parker each added one as part of a seven-goal run that extended the lead to 16-6.

Clarke (1-7, 0-3 KCAC) scored the final goal of the third period and right away to start the fourth. But St. Ambrose quickly ended any comeback hopes. Kinnerk scored his second and third goals and they were followed by goals from Hayden Latham, Morgan, Kerr and Parker to end the scoring.

Along with the three goals, Kinnerk registered four assists for the Bees. Latham had two assists and Leyden, Parker and Scislowski each tallied one.

Adam Kasper got the win for SAU. He split time in goal with Johnny Moran and Andrew Lis.

St. Ambrose will return home to St. Vincent's to host Saint Mary Saturday at 2 p.m.
