Coach Ray earns 650th career victory

It's another major accomplishment in a career full of them.

Ray Shovlain earned his 650th career win Monday night as the Bees defeated Emmaus 104-62. All 650 wins have come on the Bee bench.

His players left little doubt about whether Monday would be the night. Dylan Kaczmarek knocked down two 3-pointers and John Kerr had four quick points as part of a 12-0 run to open the game. After the Eagles closed to within 12-4, baskets from Michael Williams and Tom Kazanecki and a three from Ben Schols extended the lead to 19-4. The margin was double digits the rest of the way.

SAU shot nearly 67 percent from the floor in building a 54-26 halftime lead, and shot better than 61 percent for the game. The team was 16-of-27 (59.3 percent) from beyond the arc.

All 16 Bees who played scored, and none played more than 18 minutes.

Warren Allen led the way with 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting. Kazanecki scored 13 points and Kerr finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Williams and Kaczmarek each netted nine points, Jalen Jones and Drew Wichers each dropped in eight, and Hunter Fettkether and Seth Kizer each chipped in with six.

Wilson Page collected six rebounds to help SAU to a 52-18 edge on the boards. Kaczmarek and Kevin Krahn each handed out a team-leading four assists.

St. Ambrose (10-8) will now return to conference play with a CCAC battle at Judson Wednesday night.
