Borrelli named MSFA Offensive Player of the Week

After throwing for 295 yards and five touchdowns in his first collegiate start, Dino Borrelli was named the Mid-States Football Association Midwest League Offensive Player of the Week.

The sophomore from Manhattan, Ill., completed 24-of-33 passes to lead the Bees to a 52-14 win over Trinity International Saturday. Each of his five touchdown passes went to a different receiver, including an 80 yarder to Vince Vignali in the second quarter.

Borrelli did most of his work in the first half, throwing for 257 yards and all five touchdowns to help St. Ambrose to a 49-7 halftime lead. He did not play in the fourth quarter.

Borrelli also rushed for 20 yards to help SAU move to 6-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
