Conforti named CCAC Player of the Week
CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University's Jeremy Conforti (Villa Park, Ill.) and Saint Xavier University's Jimmy Fairley (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) have claimed the final set of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball weekly awards for 2025, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Conforti produced big numbers across the board en route to claiming CCAC Player of the Week accord. That included getting a hit, driving in at least one run and scoring one or more runs in each of the team's six games last week. The final total was both 12 hits and runs batted in and 11 runs scored.
Numbers like those, along with six doubles, three home runs and four walks, resulted in averages of .545 batting, .643 on-base and 1.227 slugging.
Conforti's biggest game of the week was his 4-for-5 effort in a 13-0 first game victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph on Friday. In that contest, he authored two doubles, one home run, two RBIs and three runs scored. He had two doubles among three hits, as well, in a 10-5 setback to Clarke University (Iowa) last Wednesday
The senior infielder also homered in the final two games of the Calumet St. Joseph series – both wins – on Sunday, where he went 3-for-8 with six runs batted in and four runs scored.
On defense, Conforti was perfect on his 40 chances with 39 being putouts.
St. Ambrose's 5-1 week to close out the regular season put the Fighting Bees as the No. 2 seed in this week's conference tournament. SAU is 25-23 overall and went 20-12 in league play.
