CoSIDA Academic All-America Baseball Team

Michael Dudek was named to the prestigious 2022 Academic All-America Baseball Team, as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He was one of just three pitchers named to the 13-member first team.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America Team is comprised of student-athletes from NAIA institutions, who are selected based on their work on the field and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.30 cumulative grade point averages.

Dudek, from Burbank, Ill., earned first team all-CCAC recognition after posting a perfect 9-0 record with a 3.68 ERA over 12 starts this season for St. Ambrose. The junior right-hander struck out 66 over 66 innings. He ranked second in the conference in wins and fifth in the league in strikeouts. He is majoring in Management at St. Ambrose.

Dudek is just the third Fighting Bee to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America recognition this year. Tom Kazanecki (men's basketball) and Olivia McClintock (softball) earned second-team honors. Dudek is the first Bee to be named a first team academic all-American since Bethany Anderson (women's swimming & diving), Jack Reemtsma (men's track & field) and Ryan Zitkus (football) last year.
