Butler, Dudek, Hernandez, O'Hara and Zietara named to all-CCAC teams

Five members of the St. Ambrose baseball team made their first-ever appearances on the all-CCAC teams this season.

Pitchers Michael Dudek and Nick Hernandez were named to the first team, alongside outfielder Adrian ZietaraBrenden Butler and Conor O'Hara were placed on the second team.

Dudek, a junior from Burbank, Ill., started 12 games on the hill for the Fighting Bees. The right-hander was a perfect 9-0 this season with a 3.68 ERA. He struck out 66 over 66 innings. Dudek ranks second in the CCAC in wins and fifth in strikeouts. 

Hernandez made 11 appearances in relief this season, tallying a perfect 5-0 record and collecting a team-high three saves. The junior from Des Plaines, Ill. boasted a 2.73 ERA in 52.2 innings. He ties for third in the conference for total saves.

Zietara batted a team-high .374 (67-for-179) with six doubles, a triple, three homers and 22 RBIs out of the lead-off spot for the Fighting Bees. The Chicago, Ill. native was second on the team and fourth the conference in stolen bases (31).

Butler, a senior from Oak Lawn, Ill., started all 47 games at third base for St. Ambrose. He was one of only three Bees to hit double-digit doubles with 10. Butler roped in 25 RBIs while going 49-of-175 for a .280 batting average.

O'Hara made 10 starts in 11 appearances on the bump for the Bees . The right-hander from Midlothian, Ill. was second amongst St. Ambrose pitchers in ERA (2.71) and third in innings pitched (63.0) and K's (49). He compiled a 4-2 record and a team-high two complete games.

The Fighting Bees finished with a 33-14 record, their most wins in a single season in over a decade.
