Bees catch an early lead to best a tough V-Hawk team

St. Ambrose women's soccer hosted the Viterbo V-Hawks on Wednesday evening. The Bees were able to get an early goal to secure a 1-0 win against the visiting V-Hawks.

The first half was very calm, with the Bees only noting four shots to Viterbo's two. Out of the four shots, Mia Hefner was able to put the Bees on the board with a goal from outside the eighteen in the 19th minute of the match.

St. Ambrose came to play in the second half. The Bees shot sixteen times to Viterbo's three and had six corner kicks to Viterbo's one. The Bees had many opportunities in the second half but could not capitalize again.

Mia Hefner led the Bees with seven shots. Jenna Horst trailed with four. Mia Vetter and McKenna Schilevinatz followed with two. Sophia Roszkowski, Lauren Bendall, Isabella Crawford, Olivia Infante, and Charlise Martel are tallied one shot.

Jonna Tucker noted two saves from the V-Hawks two shots on goal.

Next up, the Bees will host Calumet College on Saturday, October 4th, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Vincent's Athletic Complex in Davenport, Iowa.
