When St. Ambrose University added men's and women's bowling as a varsity intercollegiate sport in 2009-10, Bowlmor Lanes was named the practice and competition facility for the Bees.
Built in 1940 at a cost of $100,000, Bowlmor was the largest bowling house between Denver and Chicago at the time.
Today, Bowlmor features synthetic lanes and computer programs that can apply any oil patterns coaches want to its 20 lanes.
St. Ambrose has also added Big River Bowling as a practice facility. Big River Bowling features 48 lanes.
