Bio

Beth Jansen was named the St. Ambrose head cross country coach in May 2019.

She had been an assistant coach with the Bees since the 2008-09 season. She has coached the track distance athletes exclusively since 2010.

While at St. Ambrose, Jansen's athletes have rewritten the record books, owning nearly every school record from the 3000-meter run to the marathon.

She coached Anthony Peters, a six-time National Champion in the race walk, and Jenny Lopez, the 2016 NAIA National Champion in the race walk. Peters and Lopez both finished seventh at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Jansen is originally from Davenport, Iowa, and graduated from Davenport Central High School. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 2005 from Central College, where she was an All-American cross country runner in 2004. Jansen also earned her Master's of Organizational Leadership from St. Ambrose.
