Grafton becomes second Bee this season to reach 1000 career kills

Less than a month after teammate Meredith Siebers collected her 1000th career kill, Mackenzie Grafton reached the milestone. Grafton's final kill, wrapping up a huge night at St. Francis Thursday, made her just the 13th player since 2002 to hit the 1000-kill mark.

Needing 17 kills entering the regular-season finale, Grafton made history late in the third and final set. The 6-0 senior outside hitter from Orion, Ill., recorded her 17th kill to give SAU a 21-19 lead. Six points later, the Bees earned their fourth straight victory.

Along with the 17 kills, Grafton had just one hitting error to finish the match hitting at a .667 clip. It marked the 14th time in the last 15 matches she registered double-digit kills.
