SAU defeats IU South Bend on Senior Day

Playing their final home match of the regular season, the Bees got off to a bit of a slow start after recognizing Mackenzie Grafton, Lexi Huntley and Meredith Siebers. But St. Ambrose got it together to pull out a 21-25, 25-13, 25-21, 25-18 victory.
After 12 hitting errors in the opening set, SAU totaled just eight attack errors combined over the final three sets.
Grafton led the way with 16 kills. Meredith Umland registered nine kills while Siebers and Devyn Church each put down seven. Alex Horne had three. Adriana Diaz, Grace Beitzel, Ella Gatz and Hannah Sondag each had a single kill.
Sondag had a match-high 40 assists. Huntley picked up 12 digs, Siebers had 10 and Grafton and Sondag each recorded nine. Umland was credited with nine total blocks.
Skyler Kuntzman had three aces. Sondag finished with two while Diaz, Grafton, Siebers and Kaleigh Bergschneider had one apiece.
SAU (15-14, 9-4 CCAC) will close the regular season at St. Francis Thursday.
