St. Ambrose needs just three sets to defeat Trinity Christian

Five different Bees collected at least five kills apiece as St. Ambrose wasted little time in defeating Trinity Christian 25-16, 25-19, 25-13 Saturday afternoon at Lee Lohman Arena.

It was a huge day for SAU. The Bees finished with 48 kills against just six hitting errors for a .462 attack percentage.

Meredith Siebers led the way with 14 kills. She had just two hitting errors in 29 chances. Mackenzie Grafton put down 11 kills with two errors. Devyn Church (nine kills), Meredith Umland (eight) and Hannah Sondag (five) combined for 22 kills and two errors. Ella Gatz also had a kill in the victory.

Trinity Christian (5-12, 4-3 CCAC) finished with 30 kills and a .146 hitting percentage.

Sondag led all players with 39 assists. Skyler Kuntzman had a match-best 14 digs. Grafton picked up eight. Adriana Diaz collected six digs while Siebers and Sondag each recorded five. Umland, Sondag, Gatz and Siebers were all involved in multiple blocks.

SAU (10-10, 4-3 CCAC) will visit Roosevelt Tuesday.
