Kavalauskas named CCAC Attacker of the Week

CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University's Jill Kavalauskas (Chicago, Ill.) and Judson University's Kenia Diaz Vega (Caguas, Puerto Rico) each collected their second Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week award of the season, while Indiana University South Bend's McKenzie Powell (Rolling Prairie, Ind.) earned her third when the league office made the announcement on Tuesday.

Kavalauskas captured CCAC Attacker of the Week honors for the second time by averaging 3.6 kills per set and attacking at a .341 mark during SAU's 2-1 week. The senior outside hitter also recorded five aces and averaged 2.1 digs per set.

Kavalauskas' biggest match over the seven-day period came on Thursday when she totaled 18 kills, a .452 attack percentage and eight digs in a three-set win over Olivet Nazarene. Her other double-figure kill match came against first-place Saint Xavier University, where she produced 11 kills and another eight digs.

For the season, Kavalauskas' 3.57 kills-per-set average ranks fourth in the conference, while her .240 attack percentage places her sixth.

St. Ambrose (22-8, 13-3 CCAC) heads into the conference tournament as the No. 2 seed.
