Kavalauskas returns to lead Bees past Titans

Jill Kavalauskas returned to the lineup after missing three matches and helped St. Ambrose take down Indiana South Bend 22-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-23 Wednesday night.

The junior outside hitter, back from injury, powered the Bees with 19 kills while also adding 15 digs. She had just five hitting errors in 55 chances.

Meredith Siebers added 14 kills, against just one error, while matching Kavalauskas with 15 digs. London Williams finished with 10 kills in 15 attempts to give SAU three players with double-digit kills.

Amber Tomlin led all players with 53 assists. She also collected 16 digs.

Maicee Pierce picked up a match-high 28 digs in the win.

The Bees finished with eight aces as a team. Siebers led the way with three, while Kavalauskas and Jessica Hemm each had two, and Rachael Dion added one.

Hemm was in on 7 of the team's 10 total blocks.

St. Ambrose, now 9-5 overall and 4-3 in the CCAC, will host Saint Xavier Saturday at noon.
